Download Accelerator empowers you with a convenient safeguard filter.

DAP's Download File Info screen will appear prior to download attempts made on your computer*, providing you with the following information:

  1. Which file is about to be download: file size and file type
  2. The site from which the attempted download will be made
  3. Location to which the file will be saved, should you approve the download
  4. Additional useful details: alternate download sites (mirror sites), preview of compressed file content (zip), etc.

The Download File Info screen will notify you of a download attempt whether it has been generated by you, or more importantly, when an attempt to download a file is made by an application on your computer. This allows you to control If and When a file will be downloaded.

This control is extremely important in today's Internet world since some applications and utilities may try to initiate 'invisible' downloads of additional files onto the user’s computer, sometimes without informing the user.

It is very important that you check carefully before downloading any file.

*Note: DAP's Download File Info screen will show up, provided that:

  • DAP is your default download manager
  • You have not disabled the appearance of DAP's Download File Info screen
  • The downloaded file is of one of the file types (file extensions) that triggers DAP
  • The download URL format ends with: 'filename.extension'
  • The attempted download is made through IE system components
