1. What is Download Accelerator Plus?
Download Accelerator Plus is a download manager software that accelerate downloading files from the Internet. Key features of Download Accelerator Plus it's ability to accelerate downloading files in FTP and HTTP protocols up to 300%, pause and resume downloads, recover from a dropped Internet connection, and showing advertising banners while downloading. The acceleration is done by using more than one connection for the same file, for single or multiple servers. In Addition Download Accelerator Plus will also make a mirror search for downloading from best performance servers. Download Accelerator Plus has many other features.

2. How do I use Download Accelerator Plus?
After you install Download Accelerator Plus, it will automatically activate itself when you download: EXE, ZIP, MP3, ARJ, RAR, LZH, Z, GZ, GZIP, TAR, BIN, MP3, AVI, MPG files. You can cancel your download any time and finish the download later. (See question: How do I resume my downloads?). Download Accelerator Plus has also Drag&Drop capabilities (See question : How to use Drag&Drop). In addition to that, a URL can be entered manually using the "Add Url" in the URL menu.

3. What happens if I lose my connection to a server?
If you lost your connection, don't worry. Relax. Download Accelerator Plus will be able to resume the download (in case the server support resume). See question : How do I resume my downloads ?.

4. Why can't I accelerate and I can't resume some of my downloads?
The acceleration and resume features works only when you download a file from a server that supports resumeable downloads. Most servers on the Internet support resumeable downloads, but some older servers may not (see question number 5). (If you are using proxy server configuration - it might also influence the support of the resume). If you are using a proxy that causing the downloads to be "Not resumeable" - consider not using this proxy.

5. What is AlwaysResume feature and how do I use it ?
AlwaysResume is a feature/service that will allow you to resume broken downloads even from servers that does not allow you to do resuming. Until today, when you started to download a file from a server/network that didnt support resume, and for some reason the download was stopped, you needed to restart the download from the beginning, those days are over! - Now you can even resume those downloads. This feature will only work for dial-up users (that didnt configure a proxy) on files that are not above 10mb.

6. Does Download Accelerator Plus support proxies?
Yes. Download Accelerator Plus support HTTP and FTP proxies. To define proxy for Download Accelerator Plus go to the "Proxy/Firewall" page in the "Configuration Screen". Please note that some old proxies will not support the resume and the accelerate feature. Note: If your proxy requires username/password , you will need to fill it.

7. What browsers does Download Accelerator Plus support?
Download Accelerator Plus is integrated with Internet Explorer 4.x/5.x and Netscape 4.x (Netscape 6.x is not supported). You can also use all other browsers with Download Accelerator, but it wouldn't be integrated with them. You will be able to use "Drag&Drop", or manually entering the URL (See question: How do I use Drag & Drop ?) , the latest version of DAP will even "monitor" your clipboard, so whenever you will copy a url-link into the clipboard - DAP will be activated.

8. How can I customize Download Accelerator Plus settings?
Download Accelerator Plus setting can be customized in its "Configuration" screen, which can be reached from the "Downloads->Option/Configuration" Menu.
The setting is categorized to 4 sections: General, Connection, Proxy/Firewall and Advance. More info about each setting can be found in the help.

9. I liked the old version of Download Accelerator (3.5). How can I setup the new version to be similar to the old one (3.5)?
Download Accelerator Plus version has now many new great features that will even accelerate better your downloads. To setup it as the old version (3.5), open the configuration screen, and click on the Advance setting. Select "Ask the user what he would like to do" for the first section, and also "Check" all the other options on this page. Note that by selection all this options you may lose some of the great features of the new version (such as Mirror Searching).

10. How can I uninstall Download Accelerator Plus?
To uninstall Download Accelerator Plus, use the Windows Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs option. The change will take effect after you restart your browser. Please also make sure to exit from the Download Accelerator Plus before starting the uninstall operation.

11. How do I resume my downloads?
Resuming downloads is easy. Just double-clicking on a file which is not completed in the list - and the download will continue. If your downloads are not being resumed - please take a look at question : "Why I can't accelerate and I can't resume some of my downloads ?" 

12. How do I drag & drop files into Download Accelerator Plus?
Under the menu "Downloads" chose "Download Basket". A little window will be opened and will stay on top until Download Accelerator Plus exists. At any time you can DRAG link to files from your browser and DROP to them to this window. The download window will be opened right away.

13. What is the mirror search feature?
Mirror searching features enables the Download Accelerator Plus to search if the file you wanted to download is available on other servers with better performance. Download Accelerator Plus determines the performance to all the sites that has the same file you wanted to download, and then downloading portion of the files from the best servers.

14. What is the "Details" button in the download window?
By clicking on the "Details" button, you can get some more detailed information about the download process. You can see the progress of each portions of the file that are being downloaded. If you see only one connection - its means you are downloading from a server (or proxy) that are does not support acceleration. If this is the situation for all your downloads, try not using a proxy (if you are using one), or try contacting us to help you solve the problem.

15. Why Isn't The Download Accelerator Plus triggered by the Browser?
If you are using any other download manger that also integrates into the browser, it might affect the integration of the Download Accelerator Plus. To re-enable the triggering/integration of the Download Accelerator Plus, open the configuration screen, and in the general section "check" the Browser integration. Also restart the browser.

16. How can I disable temporary Download Accelerator Plus ?
Hold the ALT key (while clicking on an hyperlink) in order to temporary disable the browser integration of Download Accelerator Plus.

17. How I can download files whose extensions are not in the DAP configuration ?
Hold the ALT key and the CTRL key (together) (while clicking on an hyperlink) in order to download any file whose extension is not listed in DAP configuration.
